Dear Ms. Thayer,
I am submitting my resume and other credentials to the board for consideration of the City Manager position. I understand the current city manager Leonard Porter is moving on to the town council. I am sure the board would rather not leave this critical spot unfilled for too long. My talents and experience can more than prevent that.
As New Parkland’s comptroller I oversaw a city deficit implementing programs that ultimately cut the budget by 8 percent and created 200 new jobs.I am more than experienced dealing with administrative and day-to-day tasks that maintain a city’s operations. It is by no means a position to underestimate. One has to have the skill to prepare tight budgets and then monitor and execute them effectively. The city manager must also be an amicable figure. I am comfortable working with all types of people cultures and manners from the cashier at the local supermarket to CEOs. I can conduct public meetings demonstrating leadership and compassion to even the most difficult and challenging constituents.
I have the business acumen and political background that suits New Parkland’s agenda to grow as a community. I welcome the opportunity to come before the board and discuss the City Manager position.
Best Regards,
Yaretzi Townsend
