Nutritional Services
Throughout the course, students learned procedures for the collection of Diagnostic Blood Specimens by Venipuncture following the CLSI Standards. Each student learned and became certified in BLS , CPR/AED and AHA bloodborne pathogens safety and prevention with universal precautions. Course also taught basic anatomy, medical terminology, infection control, procedures necessary to appropriately collect laboratory specimens , additives in each specimen container, correct order of draw and communication with patients. After passing a final exam/practical exam complied with course content students were then to complete a 40 hour clinical at an approved hospital.
