Passionate for influencing the many lives of young children. Consistent with meeting any need in a given setting. I am compassionate and understanding of different backgrounds. Worship leader for youth at Coastline Bible Church in Ventura. I have been an active member of the organized worship team for a couple of months now. My role in the team is to vocalize a set of songs to perform in front of a small group every Wednesday night. This position is quite serious for I need to be in right standing with God on a daily basis. Our goal as a team is to bring people towards having a firm relationship with Jesus. Every Wednesday night that I sing a song for Jesus, a life is saved through the intimacy of worship.
As a young employee for the Kingdom Legacy Living Company, my role is to clean different bathrooms in rental, commercial, and multi-million dollar homes. In certain occasions, I would be asked to assist in dusting and vacuuming empty rooms. One of the largest homes that my team has cleaned is located at the Channel Islands Harbor. In that very home particular, I advanced very quickly. Since we are typically hold to a strict time limit, I taught myself in that situation to be fast and thorough with my work. At first, it took some time in adjusting to that required expectation, but once I began to work on a consistent basis the entire movement and routine became very familiar to me. Until this day, I have been one of the strongest employee's to help conserve positive reviews for this cleaning business.
Throughout my last three years in high school, I have been an active participant on the Track and Field team. This individualized sport has taught my conscious to stay resilient through difficult times of setbacks. For my first year in Track and Field, I started as a 100m and 200m sprinter. These distances were considered to be the "shortest", which personally I thought would be easy because the events only lasted a few seconds. Mistaken to the fullest, running a short event was the hardest because it required my competitive spirit to run faster times than usual. The first year of running as a sprinter was difficult because I lacked low self-esteem to overcome physical barriers that faced my direction. Until the following year, I challenged my endurance to run a 400m race that completely changed my entire life. Not many athletes participated in this event because of its level of difficulty. Therefore, I felt motivated to become the first sprinter to score points as a 400m runner. What I learned throughout this experience, revolves around the idea of discovering my strengths patiently by always attempting to try new things and conserving hope to finish a race strong. Being a runner requires a lot of self-confidence in order to cross through the finish line as a champion. I have learned perseverance at its greatest in this sport. Now as a seventeen year old, I'm inspired to continue a Track and Field career in college as a 200m, 400m, and 4x4 relay specialist.
Rio Mesa High school has selected me to be a representative for their senior class decisions. This particular council isn't just arranged on campus, but we coordinate with the District to meet our needs and requests as an entire school. My current responsibility as a senior advocate is to collect complaints from my year's class to introduce in an organized meeting with the superintendent. At this moment, the superintendent has agreed to help improve our school's infrastructure and satisfy new programs that will help student's succeed in their education. For instance, health wellness centers will be distributed at the end of 2020 to every campus for emotional therapy and support from professional counselors. We are motivated as a team to make sure that every student in Oxnard are well accommodated in their educational journey.
On June 16, 2020, I have graduated as a student athlete from Rio Mesa High school. Throughout my past four years of high school, I have been dedicated in completing my coursework with a 4.0 GPA. Three years in a row, principal honor roll certificates were distributed in my name for outstanding grades. As a student, I am very devoted in learning from my studies. Once I understand a type of material, generosity overflows my heart to assist classmates that are in need of clarification for a particular assignment. There is strong ties that I have developed during the years with my teachers. Whenever I feel overwhelmed with my studies, communication with these mature individuals had always made my day. Besides being a good student in all my classes, athletics is another course that I took throughout the day to keep fit. One of the sports that I competed for three years is track and field. In track the head coach appointed myself to run the 200m, 400m, and 4x4 relay for all three years of high school. My top time of the season was 30 seconds for the 200m and 1:12:00 seconds for the 400m.
Currently, I am enrolled in Ventura College as a freshman this fall semester. My goal for the next two years is to complete the general classes that I need to pass, for an early transfer to an CSU. Liberal studies is the area that I am focusing on to meet the requirements for an Early Childhood Education bachelors degree. In order to fulfill that desire, I am getting experience through a daycare to watch children from the ages 2-5 for skills that can be implemented in a classroom setting. My long term goal is to become a instructor for second graders in the near future.
Activities that I participated throughout high school involved mostly athletics. As mentioned on my experience list, I am a devoted runner that competes in the outdoor 200m, 400m, and 4x4 relay during the spring. Starting last fall of my senior year, I joined the girl's cross country team as a beginner. The type of races I competed in that season were 2.5 to 3 mile courses. My best time was 24 minutes at Oxnard College Park.
For personal preferences, I have been in foster care for the past few years. Through this time of my life, I have formed new relationships with many kids in Ventura County that we're in the same position. Ideally teenagers are found to be placed in foster homes more frequently than kids, but the ages can start as low as FOUR years old. Compassion overflows my heart to know that there are kids in need of a mentor, friend, and motivator to increase their hope from a life outside of home. This particular reason proves my motivation in becoming a teacher for kids at a young age.
