Responsible for all daily operations and management of the Technology Solutions Division. Perform estimating duties to include reviewing specifications and drawings, completing takeoffs and entering into estimating software. Act as the Project Manager once projects are approved, completing submittals, RFI's, developing a material procurement plan, cash flow plan, schedule of values, reporting on monthly financial status, and managing field resources as well as completing all project closeout documents. Responsible for project and labor forecasting, reporting on P&L along with cost to complete and cost center budgeting. Manage all vendor, manufacturer and supplier relationships to include specific partner and/or program requirements. Recruit, interview and hire new field and office staff, complete all performance reviews along with any required disciplinary action and/or personal improvement plan. Responsible for coordinating all field training/certifications, maintain all tools and test equipment. Design, estimate and manage technology systems as follows; Structured Cabling, MDF/IDF and Data Center design and buildout Fiber Optic and Copper Backbones, Outside Plant Cabling, Paging/Public Address, Sound Masking, Nurse Call, CATV, Wireless Access Points, CCTV, A/V, Fire Alarm, Area of Refuge, Intrusion Systems, DAS, Low Voltage Lighting Controls and Access Control in commercial, industrial, manufacturing, educational and healthcare environments. Respond to both customer direct requests as well as design-build and/or bid specs through the General Contractor or Architect. Attend all project walkthroughs, construction, coordination, contractor and customer meetings as requested. Collaborate with the customers internal teams to include IT, Loss Prevention, and Facilities to work with them through the engineering/design/budgeting phases of each project. Own each project from design all the way through to completion while managing resources, timelines and project costs to be as efficient as possible and increase profitability. Manage my team of technicians to insure they are following industry standards, safety procedures, codes, and site specific guidelines without sacrificing workmanship or quality. Respond to both customer direct requests and RFP's as well as bid packages through the General Contractor or Architect. Attend all project walkthroughs, construction meetings, coordination,contractor and customer meetings as requested. Design/Build and provide cost estimates for Structured Cabling Systems, Outside Plant, Paging and Sound Masking Systems including all backbones and completing all drawing/layouts. Complete AutoCad or PDF drawings indicating outlet locations/elevations and pathways along with layouts of all Communications Rooms and backbones. The project size would range from one single outlet to the Design/Build of an entire multi-story building, campus or hospital. Provide cost estimates for Security, Nurse Call, and Audio Visual systems to install the cabling infrastructure while coordinating directly with the integrators on hardware installation. Perform Project Manager duties once the PO is received and work order is created. Own each project from design all the way through to completion while managing resources, timelines and project costs to be as efficient as possible and increase profitability. Attend monthly Work In Progress meetings to report on all current projects. This would include the financial status in regards to labor hours/materials, making sure change orders are approved/entered, staying ahead on the billings, forecasting the percentage complete and target completion date. Attend bi-weekly Resource Meetings to report on current workload, upcoming projects and field resource requirements. Supervise anywhere from 8-12 technicians to insure they are following industry standards, codes, and site specific guidelines without sacrificing workmanship or quality. Complete technician performance reviews, any required disciplinary action, personal improvement plans along with verifying timesheets and job-related paperwork for accuracy. Act as the Account Manager for multiple customers while maintaining and building stronger relationships. Attend all site specific project meetings and budget meetings to offer input and feedback on upcoming projects and infrastructure needs. Staying in-tuned with their day to day needs and soliciting continuous feedback to help grow the accounts while providing excellent customer service.
Installation of Structured Cabling Systems to include Voice, Data, Fiber Optic and Copper Backbone Cabling along with Paging and Sound Masking Systems. Layout of Telecommunication Rooms and installation of all required racks, cabinets, and support hardware. Leading projects with multiple technicians onsite and being responsible for all job related paperwork, quality, workmanship, and profitability of the job. Complete all copper and fiber testing to industry standards using Fluke test equipment, recording the results and delivering them to the customer. Project size ranged from a single outlet to cabling an entire campus or multi-story building
Install residential home security systems for new construction, renovation and retrofit environments. Tasks included installing cabling and device installation, terminating control panels, programming and testing. Lead installation crews between 2-6 installers, delegating reponsibilities and holding team members accountable. Completing all job-related paperwork, planning and coordinating installations, and working on a rotational on-call basis for emergency service. Complete pre and post installation walkthroughs with the customers including training on the features and functionality of the system.
