Accomplishments
  • Forensic Anthropology Field School, Central Washington University - With a team of peers, we processed a mock crime scene; this included photographing and documenting the uncovering a set of planted remains. Next, was an analysis of an open cold case with the goal of determining the state of the individual at time of death while lacking details of the crime scene and retrieval of the remains, thus making this assignment a blind analysis. Both cases required the creation and presentation of our findings to a group and professor.

  • Forensic Skeletal Analysis accompanied with lab - A survey of the human skeleton and techniques of human skeletal analysis relevant to the forensic process. Identification of age, sex, and other traits in modern and extinct populations were applied and discussed.
  • Primate Social Behavior - The analysis and discussion of non-human primate behavior in social, family, and individual situations.
  • Advanced Biological Anthropology: Principles of Human Evolution - Analysis and interpretation of major principles of modern biological anthropology from an evolutionary perspective: genetics, population genetics, ecology, and comparative anatomy. Poster presentation required.
  • History and Theory of Molecular Anthropology - Seminar discussing studies that have influenced the field of biological anthropology including the areas of human origins, phylogeny, and dispersal from various articles.
