Professional Summary

During my eight years of teaching, I have been a first-grade classroom teacher, reading and math interventionist, online ELL teacher, ELL teacher, and a summer school site coordinator. During my time as a classroom teacher, I had students from several different cultures including students that did not speak English. I worked hard to create resources and provide teaching which would be beneficial to teaching all students. Working with such a diverse group of students made me fall in love with learning new strategies to use in the classroom. I wanted to continue my learning, so I went on and received my MBA in Teaching English Learners. I have been able to use the knowledge I learned during my course work, and I continue my learning all the time to learn and implement the best strategies for my students.

My goal is to meet the educational needs of low-achieving children in schools with the highest levels of poverty by aligning high-quality assessments, systems of accountability, teacher preparation, curriculum, and instructional materials with challenging State academic standards.

I continue to be a lifelong learner through ongoing, voluntary, and self-motivated pursuit of knowledge through professional development.

It helps make learning a regular habit to adapt to changes and student actions. It enhances my understanding of the content I teach and equips me with a range of strategies that enable my students to learn that content.
