During my time in Barrington I have worn several hats and have had a variety of experiences. In my early years, a colleague and I started the Hearing Itinerant program in Barrington when they decided to separate from their co-op. During those years, I taught students with hearing loss at a variety of age levels from pre-k thru high school. I ordered assistive technology for our students with hearing loss throughout the district. I built relationships with many peers and collaborated with a variety of teachers, speech therapists and psychologists.
Currently, I continue to order and care for the assistive technology for our students with hearing loss. In addition, I am an LD resource teacher at Roslyn Road School. I teach students K-5 with a variety of qualifying conditions. I have a wide range of experiences and am very adept at differentiating the core curriculum for each of my students. I am trained in the math, reading and writing curriculums used throughout the district and have taught it at grade levels K-5. I collaborate with other teachers, psychologists and speech therapists. I also substituted for one of the hearing itinerants for several weeks while she was on a medical leave.
