For my first job, I took a teaching job at an alternative high school for children with behavioral issues in Worcester, Massachusetts. In the years there, I enthusiastically embraced classroom challenges with good planning, open and clear communication and excellent problem solving skills. I was devoted to my students and my co-workers until my first child was born in 2004. I was a stay at home mother with my two children until they were both in middle school and I went back to teaching in 2017. During my time at home and still today if I am needed, I work at my husband's retail business. I greet customers, help with purchases, answer phones and set up appointments for services needed. There, I feel I have gained great experience working with the public, developing good communication and customer service skills. As a teacher in a preschool setting, I have developed the capability of remaining calm under pressure and having the ability to adapt to many unplanned situations. I have become skilled at collaborating successfully with not only children, but also with co-workers and parents. As much as I love teaching, I have decided that I am ready to try something completely new. This is why I am applying to your job posting. I don't have much experience working in an office, I don't have a ton of computer program knowledge or of medical office workings but, I am a compassionate, hard working, reliable individual with a team oriented mentality. I am high energy, extremely personable and always enthusiastic about new challenges.
