Living in San Diego offered me unusual opportunities to participate in the out of doors and components of the California lifestyle.
Walking on the beach everyday, the ocean to my right, red cliffs to my left, allowed me to become grounded in nature and to appreciate the exquisite tranquility of the natural world as a way of life. Reading, studying, creating, learning, all can take place outside. Leaping dolphins and spouting whales are all part of California's magic. Oneness with the life force, can be beautifully achieved.
The California culture is often said to be 25 years ahead. Meditation, organic foods, healing modalities encompassing energy flows, holistic medical procedures, mind expansion and creation, remote viewing, Ayurveda, world class leaders and speakers, publishers and researchers, involved within this realm have developed me along a second career path.
Hayhouse publishers, began in San Diego and now are international in scope. Deepak Chopra, Wayne Dyer, Parmahansa Yogananda, Jonas Salk, Roger Revelle who trained Al Gore, Kenneth Blanchard of the One Minute Manager, Harold Bloomfield, of Making Peace with your Parents, Carl Rogers Center for the Study of the Person, , Viktor Frankl -Man's Search for Meaning, Louise Hay, Tony Robbins, John Assaraf, Theodore Geisel -Dr Seuss, John McCain, Bill Gates, Ravi Shankar, are but a few of the neighbors who influenced my thinking. What a vibrant and stimulating community.
Growing up in New York City afforded me the opportunity to develop both musical and dance skills.
I began classical piano at 7, dance at 4, and various theatrical productions through summer performances until 18 years of age.
Friends were professional actors on Broadway, and the theater, opera, jazz, symphony, etc..were a continual part of my life.
Music is still a major component of my life and my teaching of others.
