-Implement and Maintain the Substance Abuse Control Officer (SACO) Program, IAW all directives.
-Advise the Commanding Officer in matters concerning the SACO Program.
-Through the use of "Preventative Education" and random testing, deter and/or reduce the use/misuse/abuse of all substances.
-Assist the Commanding Officer in determining the proper course of action for the Unit and the individual Marine if substance abuse is admitted or discovered through testing.
-Assist the individual Marine in gaining access to the appropriate forms of treatment and periodically follow up with the individual Marines progress.
-Keep the Commanding Officer informed of the progress of individuals who are receiving treatment and/or have completed treatmemt.
-Maintain personal/confidential information in a secured location.
-Identified discrepancies in the SACO Program and implemented corrective measures, to ensure the program was operating within all directives.
-Established a permanent SACO location, to ensure a more private/profession setting to interview/evaluate individuals seeking treatment and those found to be in need of treatment. This location also served as a secure location to store personnel files, sample supplies and samples waiting to be transferred to the lab for testing.
-Through the use of preventative education and screening tests, reduced the amount of illegal drug use and drug abuse incidents within the squadron.
-Ensure the squadron has all Ground Support Equipment (GSE), Individual Material Readiness List (IMRL) items and tools needed to performed required maintenance actions.
-Ensure the required GSE, IMRL and tools are properly maintained in accordance with all required publications.
-Conduct training, initial qualifications and follow-on qualifications for all personnel performing maintenance.
-Initiate and/or assist Quality Assurance in misuse/abuse investigations.
-Mentor, train and supervise a work center of 15-20 Marines.
-Assist work center Marines with issues pertaining to Marine Corps regulations, professional development, pay and benefits (medical, legal and educational)
-Supported the squadron in country and overseas.
-Successfully prepared for and passed 15 inspections with the grades of "On-Track" and/or "Brazo-Zulu" (Bravo-Zulu is a term meaning "noteworthy")
-Assisted the squadron in transitioning from the C130-T model aircraft to the C130-J model aircraft.
-Established a centralized, secure location for all GSE and IMRL items. This increased the availability and accountability of GSE and IMRL required to complete maintenance actions.
