Marquette Elementary School, Madison Metropolitan School District - Van Hise as a student teacher
City, STATE, 05/2013 -
Madison, WI 53711 May 6, 2013 Mrs. Peg Keeler Van Hise School 4747 Waukesha St. Madison, WI 53705 Dear Mrs. Keeler, Thank you for the opportunity to apply for a second grade teaching position at Van Hise Elementary School. During my months at Van Hise as a student teacher with Anne Delgado, I have been deeply impressed by the supportive and collaborative environment you have fostered at the school. I have watched in awe as teachers, staff and administrators inspire a love for learning and exploration without sacrificing attention to the diverse social and academic needs of their students. For me, teaching is a dream long deferred, but all the sweeter now that it is being realized. I had my first experience as a teacher many years ago when I taught French to undergraduate students. Since then I have practiced law and raised three children, but teaching has always been on my mind and I can think of no finer school than Van Hise. It has been a privilege to be a part of your school community and I am confident that my time here has given me the tools to make a positive contribution to the teaching staff. I believe that children learn best in atmosphere of friendship and respect where they are encouraged to be creative, work hard and take chances; I found just such an atmosphere at Van Hise. My resume is attached and other pertinent information, including letters of recommendation are, of course, included in my electronic application. Please contact me if there is anything else I can provide for you. I look forward to hearing from you! Sincerely,
