Accomplishments
  • As a Student Program Coordinator, I facilitated deputy registrar and election judge trainings as well as mock election setups for Cook County, the second largest county in the nation. Under my responsibility, the program successfully quadrupled in numbers, increasing from 250 to over 1,000 participants per election.

  • As Latino Liaison, I was the bridge between the Spanish-speaking community and the Clerk's office for services including elections, vital records and property tax assistance. Under my responsibility our office expanded and collaborated with more than 100 local and national organizations serving communities with high immigrant and Spanish speaking populations.

  • In collaboration with the Illinois Coalition for Immigrants and Refugee Rights, we were able to push for the Illinois non-citizen drivers license law, which allows non-citizens to legally operate vehicles and purchase insurance.

  • Alumni of the American Council for Young Political Leaders (ACYPL). As part of this program I traveled to El Salvador in representation of Cook County and Chicago government to meet with Salvadoran politicians, civil servants, business leaders and community activists on the national, province and local levels to help bridge communication between both governments.

  • I was in charge of recruiting students, developing relationships with teachers and administrators, and all outreach to high schools, colleges and other community or educational institutions.

  • I setup meetings, kept minutes, created follow-up reports and memos for administration and organizations involved.

  • As the Latino Liaison, I was the bridge between the Spanish-speaking community and the Clerk's office for services including elections, vital records and property tax assistance.

  • Lead outreach and trainings for Latino groups
  • Was the official Spanish media spokesperson for the Cook County Clerk's Office.
