College of Electronics & Computer Technology Senior Project - Created Child Alert System for Automobiles (CASA) The project consisted of a wireless communication controller connected to a MEMS thermal sensor via I2C serial interface.
The project served as a temperature alarm designed to prevent accidental hyperthermia related deaths of infants and toddlers in automobiles.
The controller was programmed in the Arduino IDE to output to a handheld device under specific temperature settings.
The handheld device consisted of a DC motor, 555 timer, piezo buzzer and physical interface for the alarm system.
Aspects of the project also included: Product conception based on market needs and feasibility given a set timeline.
Product proposal presented to a selected board of engineering, business, and physics faculty.
Preparing written documentation for project presentation.
College of Electronics & Computer Technology- Renewable Energy Assessment SUST 310 - Analyzed the feasibility of taking a 2 thousand square foot Laundromat facility in Central California and converting it fully off the grid.
This would be done with the use of PV cells, as well as wind turbines.
An 18,000 watt Hanwha Grid Tie system with Enphase Micro Inverters was used.
Along with this, a RoofMill complete Grid Tied Wind/Solar 3 Rooftop Turbine kit with an output maximum of 4.2kW was used.
ECT 100 - Designed and created a custom battery tester.
Professor noted it to be one of the more complex projects created in this course.
