This was my first job and I started right after I graduated high school. This job helped me build my customer service skills, communicative skills, and team skills. I really loved this job because I got to build my communication skills with each and every customer. We had a lot of the same customers each and every day which gave me a good opportunity to build relationships with customers. This job also taught me how to work well with others. At Starbucks I took orders, made drinks, and ran the cash register. I have always loved talking to people so this job was a great way for me to build my communicative skills. This job taught me how to deal with conflict. Whether conflict occurred between employees or customers. Although I don't like conflict, this job really taught me how to deal with it and make it a better work environment for everyone. I was at this job for 6 years and think it truly helped me get to where I am today. I really enjoy working with others and talking to new people.
I was a floater teacher's aide at Primrose, meaning I assisted teachers with anything they needed throughout the day. Being a teacher's aide consisted of taking the kids to the playground, helping them use the bathroom, getting materials they needed, helped prepare snacks, helped monitor nap time, closed down the classrooms, made copies, help with crafts, and interact with the kids. I absolutely loved this job! Although that age group is a little too young for me, I still really enjoyed the experience. I love kids of all ages so this was a good opportunity for me to be exposed to children of a younger age other than babysitting. I loved being able to assist the teachers with different tasks throughout the day. It helped me get well rounded exposure each and every day.
I earned my Associates Degree from Mesa Community College this past December, but currently in the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College at ASU and graduating with my dual certification Bachelors Degree (Elementary Education and Special Education) in December of 2020.
