Professional Summary

Resilient Special Education Teacher familiar with challenges associated with teaching children with profound needs, especially those with autism spectrum disorder eligibility. I remain positive under times of stress or conflict and work well with classroom my classroom staff to develop accommodations and special techniques for mainstream classroom inclusion. My goal is the focus on the individual student, while giving them the tools to interact with their peers in order to increase their social/emotional and communication skills. I have been teaching in an early childhood autism spectrum disorder program for the past four years that uses the preschool band of Unique Learning System curriculum. Each day, I integrate the curriculum within all the activities that my students participate in. ULS is the framework of the academic content that is provided for my students. When other supplemental material is being used in my classroom, I make sure that is aligns with the applicable ULS unit that is being implemented in my classroom. I am also well versed with using an AAC device and use the communication application, Proloquo2Go.
