Additional Information

Working with students has come to me naturally I grew up with a mom who worked for the school and I would volunteer to help her after getting out of school on a day to day basis. I will be graduating this may with Bachelors of Science in Elementary education and Special Education degree. I have worked for Safford Unified school district for 17 years starting with as a Preschool aide, I fell in love with teaching and decided it was my calling. I have experienced working with all age levels from Pre-school to Title one aide for 1st through 2nd grades before being assigned to a self-contained classroom where I worked with students with all different special needs at all age levels. After working as a paraprofessional for many years I was granted the opportunity to become a long term substitute for six years in a middle school self-contained classroom while beginning my degree. Through the years of running my own self-contained class as the head teacher I have completed Individual IEPs, held meetings on my own, joined in all teacher trainings and collaborations. This has provided me with many experiences that is needed in the field of education. I am excited to start my new journey as a certified teacher and continue to grow and teach my students.

As an educator, I have a strong belief that all students are capable of learning. In my teaching I am committed to creating a positive learning environment where all my students can feel comfortable and confident in themselves by promoting equality, respect, and fairness. I will be dedicated to my students needs and values to ensure a positive learning environment that promotes believing in oneself through the strengths of each individual student, self-reflections, and allowing their curiosities to be acknowledged to help increase learning.
