Compassionate Social Services Coordinator with 5+ years experience working with pediatric and geriatric patients with disabilities and health conditions in both educational and health care settings. I have a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a minor in human relations. I am flexible, positive, energetic, and ready to adapt to any challenge. When I began working as a deaf/hard of hearing paraprofessional I had no prior background in Deaf Education and knew very little Sign Language. However, I practiced daily and picked it up quickly and in less than a year I was able to pass the school’s early elementary interpreter exam and take on more responsibilities in the program. My current job as a Social Services Coordinator further supports this idea. When I began working in the Health Care Center, I had no experience working in a nursing home and very little experience working with geriatric patients. Despite this, again I caught on quickly and began taking on my own caseload of rehab patients within the first month. Furthermore, since the long-term care social worker quit, I have been able to take on many of her duties while continuing to manage my own. Now I am seeking the opportunity to employ my communication and people-skills at your facility so I can continue to grow in the field of social work.
-Occupational Therapy track. I, GPA: 3.3

I completed my first year general education classes at Harper College before transferring to the University of Iowa
