Professional Construction Laborer with excellent leadership skills. Works in a timely and efficient manner to see tough jobs through to completion. Motivated and adept at interpreting blueprints. My experience as a Local 79 Shop Steward and Construction Laborer with training in Site-safety have made me skilled at ridding construction sites of potential hazards and promptly completing assigned tasks. I have a vast range of experience from residential projects to large corporate construction projects of all types.
As an Instructor I would be motivated to share my wisdom, experience and skills with apprentices and journeyman alike for the betterment of my union brothers and sisters. Outgoing and dynamically positive Shop Steward for more than twenty-two years, I have already completed more than fifty certification courses in our training center. I have excellent communication and interpersonal skills which were honed during my career in retail sales and as a leader in the Knights of Columbus. I am sincerely interested in building a new career as an Instructor in our union at the Mason Tenders Training Fund.

I am a 25 year member of the Knights of Columbus. I have held eight different offices in one of the largest councils in Queens County. Served as Grand Knight for two terms (1999 - 2001) at Joyce Kilmer Council. Have taught and served as Ceremonials Chairman for Initiations over the last 12 years. Currently serving as one of five Directors of the east coast for the Knights of Columbus International Bowling Association (2010 to present) United States and Canada.
Have completed both "Voice" classes in our training center as well as the three day "Organizer Training Program" in Carteret,NJ.
Have had Red Cross training in First Aid and C.P.R. outside of our local and served 2 years as a member of the Flushing Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
I have P.A.D.I. (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) Certification as an Advanced Open Water Diver including five "Specialty" cetifications and have logged over 250 dives using Navy dive tables around the world.
Over the last 22 years in Local 79 I have:
* Served as; Labor Foreman, Labor Steward (16 years), Site-safety Officer, Bell Ringer (Material Hoist) & Laborer.
* Served as Labor Steward or Labor Foreman on 11 School Construction Authority projects & 3 DASNY (Dormitory Authority State of New York) projects.
* Served as Labor Steward for Tishman Construction at Floyd Bennet Field during the "Hurricane Sandy" emergency relief project. (113 laborers).
Worked both full and part-time shifts repairing and replacing parts and motors on electronic pin-setting machines for private owners and the AMF (American Machine and Foundry Corporation).
Did light auto repairs and managed Gas Sales at two locations over a period of Eighteen months. Part and full time.
