I am an Undergraduate Pre-Medical Student at the Catholic University of America completing a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Psychology. As an aspiring physician, I am seeking the opportunity to gain clinical and laboratory research experience to further my skills and expand my horizons in the healthcare field. Lab Research Jan 2016 to May 2016 The Catholic University of America － Washington DC, DCPerformed lab research experiment using the model organism C. elegans in which RNAi was performed. The focus of the research was the cause of the loss of function of the unc-10 gene in C. elegans by viewing phenotypes of the worms after they were fed an AK55 strain of E. coli which contained the RNAi product. Unc-10 is a gene essential to the process of Synaptic Transmission in humans and inferences can be made about the human genome from the research when there is a loss of function of the gene.
