On a daily basis, I perform multiple MRI's on a vast array of patients. I currently scan on 4 different MRI platforms, one being a 3T. I am trained in MRI Fetal scans, MR Spectroscopy, MR Perfusion, MR Functional, Breast MRI and Pediatric Imaging and Trauma. I am trained in customer satisfaction while obtaining high, professional diagnostic imaging. I am constantly reducing patients' anxiety and enhanced cooperation by educating on procedure details, instructions and expectations. I am responsible for the safety of my patients and must be able to properly alter protocols to the disease or radiologist preference. I am proficient in starting IV's and administer IV contrast materials to patients. I am in constant communication with the In-House patients, doctors' offices, physicians, radiologists, nurses, pharmacy and other radiology departments. I assist on a daily basis with managing the schedule for the day and accomplishing MRI's quickly yet thoroughly. I scan sedation patients and work with Anesthesia on patients requiring anesthesia sedation. I daily review patients history to obtain the best MRI exam for the patient. I transport patients to and from the ER or in house. I can lift at least 50lbs. I am constantly having to transfer patients from beds or wheelchairs. I am trained in MR safety and up to date on CPR and licensing. I am proficient with PACS and McKesson and Cerner. Daily I juggle multiple projects and tasks to ensure the highest quality scan within a timely manner. My goal everyday is to ensure each patient I come in contact with receives excellent care, compassion and open communication.
While employed with UMC I performed x-rays for 1 year. I cross trained into CT and worked in this department for over 10 years. I was responsible for starting IV's, scanning all age groups, adapting protocols per patients and doctors request. I administered IV contrast agents, checked blood levels for appropriate labs to ensure the safety of each patient. I scanned Level 1 Trauma patients efficiently and effectively. I worked closely with the ER and radiologists to provide the the optimal scan for each patient in a timely manner. I was responsible for transporting patients safely. I time managed the schedule on a daily basis and prevented long wait times. While in CT, I cross trained into MRI and did both for several years. I was proficient in biopsies, drainages, sedations and anesthesia cases.
While employed at this facility I was soley responsible for providing x-rays and CT scans. I also triaged patients as they came into the ER and also ran ECG's on patients and started IV's. I captured and developed images following physicians' orders allowing proper diagnosis and treatment. I tested patients to gather information on wide range of illnesses and diagnoses. I reduced exposure to radiation using beam-restrictive devices and patient shielding techniques. I maintained highest levels of quality, safety and patient confidentiality by following hospital and regulatory guidelines when collecting patient information and conducting imaging procedures. I operated mobile imaging equipment to capture medical information at patients' bedsides when unable to ambulate to the scan room. I ran labs and was proficient on running QC for the CBC and CMP machines. I was trained in running tests such as flu, RSV, pregnancy, drugs, strep, etc. I was responsible for the lab, x-rays and ct scans during my 12 hour shift. I was responsible for relaying crucial information to the physicians and nurses.
