Pole Loading Analysis- Responsible for performing over 300 distribution pole loading analyses, using O-Calc Pro software, to determine the strength capacity of wood poles given the proposed addition of a new telecommunications wire. Determined the mechanical characteristics of the existing pole equipment in order to properly configure the pole model in accordance to the Client's technical guidance and NESC standards. Analyzed different aspects of the model including clearances, tension and sag, calculated moment loads, and strength capacity.
Field Verification-Conduct a physical field audit of utility/light poles to determine the eligibility for telecommunication antennas to be installed on poles in support of the 4G network expansion. Conduct field audit to confirm previously obtained desktop, map-based, information by gathering information about available right-of-way, existing infrastructure configuration, identifying utility power source, and performing a defined User Equipment (UE) relay test. Take electronic pictures specified in the Field Verification Form Checklist and collect any other physical information needed to provide a full site analysis.
Construction Management- Responsibilities include project oversight, ensuring work performed is done safely, built to standard, on schedule, and within budget. Daily and weekly job reporting. Act as a liaison between the contractor and utility. Job site walk through's, tailboards, and briefings. Weekly calls, meeting with engineers, project managers, etc. Approving job scope changes through the correct point of contact. Making sure the correct permitting is obtained and up to date for job. Projects I have worked on include:Overhead line upgrade from 4KV to 34KV. Substation construction management: Overseeing crews installing security systems, conduit, and pouring foundations for new security buildings.
