Senior Java Engineer, 12/2014 - 12/2015
Change Healthcare Union City, CA,
  • Translated business requirements into functional specifications.
  • For State Auto Insurance I create a RESTFul Java Web Service to manage Agents/Individuals and the Agencies they are a part of. This Web Service is called Agency Admin. It will allow a .NET UI call multiple endpoints to get information on Agencies, Agents and the Individuals in those Agencies.
  • Developed a RESTful Java Web Service to search policy holders by Policy Number or Policy Holder Name as a part of a Global Search Web Service to bring back results in a “google-like” format. This is to be combined with a later Content search to allow the user to choose between Policies and Content. This was written as a RESTFul Java Web Service that calls the existing Policy Search Web Service and Content Web service to build a JSON message with both results. This is part of the Agent Site rewrite project converting all .NET web services to Java.
  • I worked on the Agency Portal Application to create new business quotes. An agent could go in using Agency Portal and create a new business quote or quick quote for Farm Auto, Homeowners, Personal Auto, etc. I pioneered the transaction for Personal Auto and worked on defects for the Farm Auto and Farm and Ranch lines of business. This Portal application was built on the AP framework and the fixes were mainly made to Java classes or the User interface
Senior Java Developer, 02/2014 - 12/2014
Luxoft Nashville, TN,
  • Developed and altered applications to meet changing market trends and individual customer demands.
  • Enhanced the ClaimsSpyGlass Application to allow users to process medical claims. These screens were developed using JSP/Servlet technology with a DB2 back end. Since most of the application is Database driven, it was developed using an MVC architecture
  • Developed a new Database table to hold disability pay dates for disability claims date ranges. The current system only allowed 5 static disability payment date ranges, with no ability to add another date range. I enhanced the screen to include a dynamic scrollable table and allowed the user to add as many date ranges as they wanted. This was written using Jquery including all necessary date-checks
Senior Web Designer, 12/2012 - 12/2014
Carta Palo Alto, CA,
  • Created landing pages, dashboards and web applications using Agency Port Framework and Java and Javascript programming languages.
  • The screens in Agency Portal were for endorsing Homeowners Insurance Policies. These screens were created using JSP and XML utilizing the Agency Port framework and using the ACORD XML standard. The business layer, service layer and validation layer all used Java/J2EE technologies. The back end persistence is DB2.
