Security manager on the North Slope on the BP contract. This contract has over 120 security personnel. Manage armed and unarmed officers in many different job duties from checkpoints and patrol officers, to camp officers and pipeline surveillance teams.
Manage day to day operation including access control, emergency response, mass transportation system, meet Federal and State requirements for pipeline checks, wildlife interactions and other event. Oversee the field-wide emergence dispatch system that dispatches security, fire and EMS. Member of BP incident command.
Work daily with BP management on developing system and policies governing the field. Provide safety meeting presentations for BP and Contract companies on vehicle safety, traffic issues including winter driving, animal interaction, drugs and alcohol, current security risks, and other relevant topics.
Security manager at the Tesoro Refinery on the Kenai Peninsula. Manage a guard force of 5 on duty officer in a MTSA facility.
Develop training and verification for officers to meet the Federal MTSA requirements to include, drills and exercises to insure compliance.

Interact with vessels loading and unloading oil and other petroleum products when appropriate.
Evaluate threats to the facility and plan and respond in an appropriate manner.
Started my career in the Department of Corrections and then moved over to the Department of Safety, Alaska State Troopers. I retired as the post commander at Homer Post.
