I am currently an undergraduate at American University with a major in journalism and a minor in both political science and technology. I am planning on graduating in the spring (May) of 2022.
Leading into my start in FCCLA in 2011, I was able to learn to different ways to communicate with coworkers, friends, and family members to have a more powerful and fluid conversation with them. Once getting inaugurated into my presidential role in 2016, I furthered my communication skills by having to give speeches in front of my classes, have one-on-one meetings with administration officials and the Superintendent of Randolph Townships schools, and communicate with other student, teacher, and community groups. Starting at Hollister Co. in 2018 and continuing to now at GAP In., I have learned persuasive communication skills for sales and ways to supply information to clients and customers on products the company wanted me to sell them. Due to these skills learned, I have become on of the top credit card openers at my current places of employment (GAP, Old Navy, and Banana Republic). While continuing with my studies at American University, I have learned skills to interview individuals on multiple topics (COVID-19 impact, DACA and immigration, and other current events). As I further my careers in retail, journalism, and any other opportunities that come my way, I plan to further my advancements and understanding of communication skills for any and all circumstances.
