Summary

Having grown up on a farm in rural Alaska, I personally helped to construct homes, cabins, shops and barns (from mixing and pouring concrete footings, laying block foundation walls to the framing, roofing, wiring, rough-in plumbing to the installation of doors, windows, insulation, drywall, cabinetry, HVAC systems, appliances and finish carpentry. I have experience in every aspect of home construction).

This background gave me an extraordinary advantage when I started appraising wilderness, rural, suburban and urban properties in Alaska. My experience appraising a broad spectrum of properties from off-grid cabins without road access and utilities to downtown hi-rise, high-end condos caught the eye of the Chief Appraiser of Security Pacific Bank when I moved to the Silicon Valley and sought employment. I reviewed appraisals for Security Pacific Bank and appraised the more difficult assignments from mobile homes on large acreage parcels to oceanfront homes in the Monterey Bay area to multi-million dollar mansions in Silicon Valley and San Francisco. This experience led me to open Pacific Real Estate Services Company in San Jose CA, performing appraisals of all property types and reserve studies for condominium HOAs. Later, I moved to Portland Oregon and hung my shingle specializing in high-end residential, unusual and rural properties in northwest Oregon and southwest Washington.

With over 20,000 appraisals performed, my portfolio contains the most diverse range of properties imaginable for an appraiser anywhere in the country.

I am a proficient Real Estate Appraiser with demonstrated skills in completing appraisals on multi-family, single family, and condominium properties of all types.
