I am Responsible for short- and long-term planning, with focus on day-to-day operations of the rooms division and related areas to include: Revenue management, Front Office, Housekeeping, Night Audit, Concierge, Bell Staff, Valet Drivers.
Manage and maintain group/transient inventory controls by daily review, implementation of room accommodation and rate inventory controls.
In an effort to develop, monitor and adjust pricing strategies I conduct weekly Revenue Management meetings to discuss booking pace, pricing strategies, marketing opportunities and our competitive environment. Through these discussions I am able to provide a synopsis of results vs. decision from the previous week and lead discussions on future issues, such as group performance and action plans with the Director of Sales.
Provide critical analysis of current strategies, room statistics and demand factors. I do this by reviewing end of month rooms' statistics, dissecting various
monthly Revenue Management analysis reports and being familiar with my market. Analyze our performance vs. forecasts to ensure positive results of the implemented strategies based upon my recommendations. Conduct displacement analysis of group business, as needed, to determine the impact potential business will have on RevPAR. Review all tentative and definite group bookings, to ensure that they support implemented strategies. Complete weekly booking pace analysis, to recommend strategy changes when needed as well as analyze past and present trends to make sound recommendations for future strategies. Responsible for all weekly, monthly, and quarterly forecasting and heavily involved in the budgeting process as required by my management company, using RM Systems, Sales and PM Systems to assist in the developing of annual transient pricing.
Through the review of competitive shops, the ability to identify selling strategies and recognizing trends within the market, I am able to provide an accurate competitive and demand analysis that allows me to implement pricing strategies that have been proven effective for my hotel. These strategies have also allowed us to maintain a long standing position as leaders within our market and the City.
