Hello! My name is Ethan Santiago and I am a rising junior at Virginia Tech! Currently I am seeking a part time job for the summer of 2020. Seeing how I have optimal experience in customer relations from my previous employments, I figured working as a barista would be an excellent experience! As working as a Resident Advisor for the past year, I believe I am more than qualified to interact with the customers who visit the facility within a given work day. Additionally, I believe that working in the food industry will grant me skills that I could not acquire anywhere else and would love to have the opportunity to experience said skills. I am a Cognitive and Behavioral Neuroscience student who is hoping to work in pharmaceutical sales in the future. I believe by holding this job, I will learn skills that are essential for working with a vast amount of interactions with customers. Within campus, I am a diligent Resident Advisor proficient in campus procedures, safety standards and emergency response. Energetic, motivated and thorough with excellent conflict resolution and organizational skills.
My job as a residential advisor is to make the transition to college as smoothly as possible. I hold my residents accountable to their actions and report what needs to be reported by university standards. Additionally, I am there as a support system for any disgruntled residents whether it is caused by school/ academic work to stress in their personal lives. Additionally, I am in charge of fostering a community within my hall and building through multiple events coordinated by myself and working with other co workers.
Additionally, some other duties I have had to personally deal with consist of:
Within this job, I would run a kids club in which parents drop of their children while events at the club would happen. We would work on relations of working together, respectful behavior, interpersonal relations between the kids. My job also required hospitality and communicative relations with my superior boss, children, and their parents and guardians.
Within this role as a Water Safety Instructor I had the pleasure of teaching patrons of all ages about the importance of safety in water. Additionally, I would work with kids and parents in the level of mommy and me classes, to senior citizens in swim lessons. I had to work through the entire spectrum in the aid of teaching the patrons how to swim adequately whether it was survival swimming, or competitive swimming.
As a life guard it was my duty to ensure safety within the facility. Additionally, chemical balancing of ph levels were crucial. When not on stand, I was responsible for ensuring positive customer service, first aid, and up keeping with the cleansing of the facility including the pool deck, outside area, and bathrooms. Lastly, reporting to my superior on facility concerns and customer concerns were also included in the job description. Additionally, I:
