Right now I am working at a dental office as a receptionist. I have learned so much along the way. I am able to work in a faced paced environment, answer phone calls, schedule patients and be polite and kind to the people that I see at my job every day. I have a good job and I'm blessed, but it's a bit of a far drive for me. I'm looking for something a little closer to home. I'm also looking for something that won't keep me so late at work. I typically work until 5 but there are days when I'm at work until 6. I'm willing to try something a little different or to continue on as a receptionist, be it in the dental field or in an office and so forth. 1.) Communication skills- This is so very important at this job. I do my best to answer the questions that patients
ask me. Every patient that I come across is different and I try to help them out and explain everything to the
best of my knowledge.
2.) I am able to be polite with difficult patients. I do my best to stay calm and to always be polite and under
control. I believe that I have a great personality and that helps me treat everyone with respect.
3.) Math skills- I have to make sure that the payment that the patient provides is correct. I am also able to give
the patient the correct amount of change.
4.) I have the ability to work in an office that gets pretty fast paced. I check out a lot of patients and I do my
best to do all of the work provided efficiently.
5.) Basic computer skills- I am able to send emails, use the system to book appointments, and transfer x-rays
from our email to the patient's file
