I am a professional educator currently teaching first grade at Occoquan Elementary School. I achieved National Board Certification in Literacy for Middle and Early Grades in November 2013. I currently serve as a mentor to new teachers, as well as clinical faculty and site facilitator for GMU education interns. I also serve as grade level chair for my team. As a PhD student I have presented at two conferences. The first conference was the Critical Questions in Education Conference held in San Diego, February, 2015. The second conference was the TESOL conference held in Toronto, in March 2015. In addition I have presented at professional development seminars at my school on the topic of writing with English Language Learners.

My interests include reading current research in teacher education. I enjoy attending educational conferences and networking with other professional educators. I also enjoy mentoring new teachers and sharing expertize in teaching writing in particular. I am interested in academic writing and would like to have an article submitted for publication.
