Qualified Production Supervisor with 24 years experience in supervising up to 35 employees and seven different department lines.
I encourage teamwork, have the most cross trained employees out of all three shifts, and my team successfully went over two years without any safety incidences. I had my team excited about being cross trained so that we could meet deadlines even when other employees called out on our shift.
Our shift also had the least amount of customer returns due to constantly emphasizing quality and striving to do the job right the first time.
I was responsible for hiring, firing, addressing disciplinary write ups, reviews, and I managed the employees hours (Kronos and NovaTime systems).
I supported them when they were struggling with learning their positions by setting them up with a mentor that would spend time teaching the trainee until he/she was comfortable with doing their position.
I enforced company policies, pertaining to GMP's, PPE's, safety, LOTO and gave additional training when necessary.
Planned and assigned manpower to efficiently meet production requirements. Also utilized a temporary service when necessary. Asked employees to go home when lines were going to be down for a certain length of time in order to save on man hours, which increased our overall efficiencies.
I suggested to my Manager that we take the four assistants we had and put them on 12-hour shifts, which he did. This resulted in a substantial amount of overtime savings for the company.
Since there was very little support on third shift, I immediately spoke with my crew and explained the importance of them being cross trained, so that we could cut down on overtime hours and so they could get some time off, since we worked seven days a week. We were the most successful shift in getting this accomplished and other shifts are now following our example.
