I have been with the company for a year as a PC (Product Coordinator) in Product Central. My strong passion for the company is what lead me to join QVC. I am an enthusiastic fan of the live broadcast channel.
My role as a PC consist of gathering and preparing all products presented on air. This role requires attention to detail, organization, time management, and great communication skills. I am responsible to effectively communicate with other departments such as Digital, Fashion Stylists, Show Planners and Buyers to ensure product is accounted for and prepared for live shows.
My one year in Product Central has given me a valuable understanding of how shows are prepared and presented on air. I have learned how to read the Broadcast Pal, which is a vital and important blueprint of each show. I have become familiarized with deciphering the quantities and availabilities of product, along with its scripted time and any other important key mentions such as special pricing or new product launches.
My strong work ethic and ability to learn quickly has been recognized by my management. They have given me additional tasks and responsibilities such as learning other roles in the department like SPC Fill In. This role is usually assigned to Senior Product Coordinators. I've also been given the opportunity to be the Lead in Put Away which leads a small group of individuals. Both roles require extensive documentation and require effective communication to the management team.
Before Joining QVC I worked in retail for The Home Depot as a COS. As a COS I was responsible for overseeing all installations and was the mediator between the installation companies, vendors, and the stores management. I responsible for training specialists on merchandise and the installation processes. If anything arose during an installation it was my responsibility to act quickly and find a solution. I learned how to read blueprints, and use advanced computer applications. I responsible for submitting multiple reports every week.
While working in retail I also wrote for a local Magazine (Delaware County Magazine). I had the great privilege of interviewing many great companies and starters of businesses. This was a great insight into the competitive world of business and marketing. This was a creative role that allowed me to work for myself without the supervision of a management personnel while still needing to meet deadlines.
This year I became an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach from The Institute of Integrative Nutrition in New York. I am now certified and seeing clients. This role enables me to help mentor and assist client's in their journeys to self development and improved nutrition. This new role has inspired me to write a self help book. My book is due to go into publication later this year.
As a Product Coordinator I am responsible for ensuring all products for upcoming shows are available and prepared in advance. This entails the task of physically gathering all products from multiple locations in building, ordering product to fulfill on air needs, partnering with other departments such as the styling team and digital department, communicating with show planners and vendors to ensure all product needs for live shows are met. I am responsible for setting up the product in show order for the Studio Coordinators to display on stage. We are required to understand the Broadcast Pal which is commonly communicated between PC's and SC's when going over show information.
We are required to login into LRS and keep record of our time spent throughout the day to ensure accuracy and productivity. We have to meet tight deadlines to ensure product is ordered and arrives in time for the given show date. This position requires good organization skills as we are responsible for organizing the product on show racks, sending emails to numerous contacts, and ensuring all documentation for show checkers. We are taught how to identify warehouse quantities of each product to better understand the selling strategies behind each product presentation.
As a PC we use numerous computer applications and are knowledgeable in product research and show understanding. I have become very knowledgeable in the numerous computer programs used to complete picking a show. I currently have a score of 98% in show accuracy. I have been recognized by PC management and have been given the great opportunity of learning other roles such as SPC Fill, Lead Put Away, and IC. All great fundamental positions that are essential in the success of our department. I've been given the great responsibility to manage small groups of Product Coordinators in Put Away and organize daily plans for effective productivity. While being in the role of Fill In I was able to partner with Studio Coordinators on stage during their shows to ensure their product needs were met.
I have been thanked by the Director of Product Central for jumping into new positions very quickly with minimal training, I've also been recognized for my attention to detail and great organizational skills by my Supervisor.
In the four years I've worked for The Home Depot I have held multiple positions all in which strengthened my talents and abilities to be an effective leader. These positions included being a customer service representative at the Service Desk. I was given the task of multitasking between departments and being a knowledgeable advocate for customers. I then became a Kitchen Designer. I was flown to Atalanta Georgia to train at The Home Depot Headquarters. I was trained by Home Depots Masters Trainers in Kitchen Design. Being a Kitchen Designer allowed me use my creative ability to execute a kitchen blueprint and integrate customers ideas with my design skills. I then became a specialist in numerous departments including flooring, decor, the pro desk and appliances. I visited many manufacturing plants and was given a glimpse into product production and manufacturing. I spent a lot time reviewing and learning the ordering process from our suppliers and vendors and built strong relationships with our stores representatives. I then became a customer order specialist (cos). This role held many responsibilities. My main task was communicating directly with our installers and vendors to resolve customer facing installation issues. This was a very technological position that required the use of multiple computer programs. I reviewed blueprints and photographs from our installers and was responsible to investigate where the problem arose then find a stable solution to the problem. I often times went to out to customers homes with the installers and the district service mange to get a better understanding of the problem. This entailed strong communication skills with multiple resources. This position had strict time frames to get problems resolved. I multitasked while dealing with numerous installation problems at once. I used critical thinking to problem solve and partnered with our stores management and regional members to rectify problems. This position allowed me to work independently with little supervision. I was also responsible to teach and train all specialist in the specialty departments about the products and services offered by The Home Depot. I worked very closely with our stores vendors and representatives to gain product knowledge. I would then teach departments about the products sold in their department. I was also responsible to review weekly and monthly sales for all speciality departments. I would compare and contrast sales and strategize where improvements were needed. I was responsible to submit sales data to specialty mangers weekly and partner with supervisors to discuss department growth. While in this role I received numerous awards and many letters in from customers who thanked me for my dedication to resolve their installation problems. and productivity. In the four years of working with this company I have received multiple awards, 24 in total. Including two Platinum awards for my customer service skills and positive engagement. I was also recognized by our district regional manager for my involvement in being able to problem solve in specialty departments.
I have always had a passion for writing. I had applied to become a writer for The Delaware County Magazine. I had no previous writing experience. I contacted the Editor in Chief Teresa Smith. I advised I was interested. She advised other more experienced writers also shared an interest in the postion. I wrote a small article about the importance of hydration. Teresa read it and hired me. I got the job. In the few months that I wrote for the magazine I was privileged to interview many different businesses including pharmaceutical compomies, real estate agents, dance schools, children centers, fashion designers, and veterinarian centers. I had complete free will to be creative and ask intriguing questions dependent on the business. I had deadlines to meet and was able to articulate my interviews into a captivating written pieces.
My personal interest including expanding my knowledge about the beauty, fashion, and travel industry. I have a passion for skincare and cosmetics and am consistently researching new trends and products that introduced into the market. I have a passion for travel and exploring the world. I enjoy meditation and self development. I enjoy reading and writing. I also enjoy photography and have created a social media platform to display my work.I am always looking to improve myself and be best I can be. I love to learn and take advice from others and am open to constructive criticism. I have a very strong passion for QVC as a whole, from their lovely Hosts to its wonderful products. Overall, I enjoy everything life has to offer and am always looking for ways to improve and more importantly give back.
