Implemented Operational Safety Programs for Process Safety Management and Responsible Care®. Both Union Carbide and Dow Chemical utilized Global Standards that harmonized jurisdictional requirements of each country of operation with United States requirements thus forming a program that was consistent across all business units.
Implemented a rigorous ISO 9001 program in 1994 for POLYOX® WSR underwritten by Underwriters Laboratories. POLYOX® WSR is a time-release agent for drug products, an additive in personal hygiene products for a luxurious feeling, a thickening agent in cough syrup, and for flocculation in pulp and paper operations.
Conducted Implementation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), and Product Qualification (PQ) for POLYOX® WSR (polymerized ethylene oxide) in conformance with current good manufacturing practices (cGMP).
Specified, designed, and configured process control systems to support continuous and batch chemical operations. Most installations were over 5000 I/O and consisted of basic process control (BPCS), safety instrumented systems (SIS) and device integration with OEM skid packages.
Managed teams of up to seven people consisting of employees and staff augmentation.
Maintained compliance with federal and state regulations such as OSHA's PSM, EPA's RMP Emergency Response Plans, and Title V, WV 45CSR30 and LDAR (Leak Detection and Repair).
