Summary

Hello, Thank you for considering me for this position. During my numerous leadership positions and life I’ve encountered the challenging yet rewarding opportunity to work with different ages within the Spectrum. Although each individual is uniquely different and requires their own specific routine the general art of patience, understanding, consideration, and tending to any specific need must always be applied. I have worked with ages 6yr and up and grew up in a house with an autistic cousin. Although he’s a couple years older than me, I would often be an occasional caregiver keeping him calm , entertained, and safe. His love for police cars would often trigger him to run out side as soon as he heard sirens. After taking family courses ( SCIP) and knowing the proper way to touch his body in order for me to constrain him and keep him calm I would often redirect his attention and continue on providing a positive environment. I’ve dealt with children with provisional diagnosis within my church as pathfinder drill team director and students as a preschool teacher. As I continue my education in speech pathology I’m eager to learn and apply to each individual.
