Previously, I now work at an Amazon fulfillment center I work overnight I stow away packages so they can go out for delivery the next morning I learning the numbers to stow them in the right bag. When I stow I put the boxes or littles bags at amazon we call the little blue and white, brown, or yellow bags “Jiffy's”. I put the heavy boxes in oversized having to bend my body stretching down starting at my knees I always stretch before working having a good warm-up is great on your body so you won't hurt yourself. Once a bag is full and heavy we replace it with a different bag sometimes you can fit extra jiffy on top, stocking and storing things in the right place. Sometimes I pull off the conveyor belt and have a section of 4-6 to put the packages on the shelf so the person inside the section can stow the package. sometimes we have busy nights others we don't, lately now in January we haven't had a lot but we did just have Christmas and it was not that bad either until the end since everyone has amazon prime now and days. Working at Amazon isn't that bad for me I have been working there for 6 months and I haven't caught covid not once I do get checked at work daily once every two weeks, we have workers that watch and make sure we stay six feet apart we even have a door temperature device that checks us as we are coming into work wearing our mask it is MANDATORY and we check in with our badgers after getting checked.
I have always considered Rockland place assistant living home my favorite place to work even though I worked in the dining staff I enjoyed the residents, getting to know them and talk to them, learning food they loved, and remembering it for the next time if they suggested to have it again. I was a server in the kitchen when arriving at work I prep for breakfast, lunch, or dinner depending on my shift workday. Dishing fruit and pouring syrup in a little plastic cup for breakfast, having silverware laid out and table properly set for residents to come in and be ready for breakfast, at lunch having dessert snacks ready for them also having a new fresh seat of silverware and place setting (tablecloth, napkin, cups). Before covid- 19, we used glass but afterward, we started to have residents stay in their rooms and we drop food off in their rooms using all paper and plastic, and top lids for food. we did daily testing and tested residents, wearing a mask before entering the building at all times. At dinner, I would prep desserts ahead a time of time depending on if I have to make a pie or bake a cake and make cookies. Cleaning up before and after getting food ready for residents to eat. Cleanings and mopping floors, washing dishes, sweeping or vacuuming, wiping down tables.
