Executive Profile
I love consulting because I love learning the next new thing and leveraging all the cool new things I learned before. I have an uncanny ability to learn a new business quickly and often receive the compliment from my clients that I speak and act as someone who has been with their organization for years. My engineering background gives me great credibility with staff at scientific and technical organizations, while my business acumen and experience allow me to sit at any executive table and talk strategy and results. I'm passionate about doing work that makes a difference and working with other people of integrity. I'm currently working on a Diversity and Inclusion simulation for the MillerCoors Leadership Team to help them move from awareness to action and develop strategies for achieving their revenue, profitability and representation goals.

Core Accomplishments

Serving primarily in a consulting role, both internally and externally, I define success as achieving my client's objectives. We all work in teams, so while these bullets say "I achieved" there is always a greater "We". Here are some examples:

  • I achieved Davita's objectives of illustrating the complex business dynamics that occur between patients, physicians, private and public payors and developing strategies for balancing capacity building with daily operations
  • I achieved CH2MHill's objectives of mitigating the business development risks associated with a large multinational working across energy, construction, water, and other infrastructure segments
  • I achieved IHS's objectives of addressing the communications, culture, and performance management issues exacerbated by their “growth through acquisition” strategy
  • I achieved Ernst & Young Advisory Services objectives of countering the operational and cultural dilution of the EY approach caused after hiring outside partners to reboot the practice
  • I achieved Ernst & Young's objectives of exposing the complex tradeoffs between key engagement metrics, such as client satisfaction, profitability, and impact to the firm. We won a Brandon Hall Gold award in the process and have provided training to more than 5,000 EY Senior Managers and Partners.
  • I achieved Air University's objectives of revolutionizing their decades-old model from “a box of books” to a more engaging, effective, and scalable online approach. We won two Chief Learning Officer Gold awards in the process and have provided training to more than 10,000 deployed Air Force officers.
  • I achieved Hyatt Hotels objectives of transforming their Global Sales and Revenue function through changes to their organizational, systems, and training infrastructure
  • I achieved Kiewit Corporation's objectives of better self- and employer-screening for incoming engineers
  • I achieved Duke Fuqua's objective of preparing incoming MBA students for fast-paced classroom study in both the U.S. and Kazakhstan
  • I achieved the New York City Department of Education's Office of Teacher Effectiveness objectives of shifting evaluator mindsets from performance evaluation to coaching
  • I achieved Freddie Mac's objectives of identifying cultural barriers to successful implementation of their Customer Relationship Strategy and developing a change management plan to increase adoption
  • I achieved the Armed Services Blood Program's objectives of developing and deploying a new operational data system to 70 sites worldwide
  • I achieved my personal objective of securing a Phase 2 Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) grant and provisional patent for the commercial counterpart of our DoD research in blood management
  • I achieved the Altarum Institute's objective of operationalizing their “Systems Research for Better Health” strategy
  • I did not achieve the U.S. Selective Service System's objective of shifting focus from Registration to Readiness (but it’s a pretty good story)
  • I achieved the Department of Interior Office of the Chief Information Officer's objective of successful (i.e., accepted) OMB Exhibit 300 submissions
