Talented early education professional 11+ years with diverse experience in planning and implementing various activities for promoting physical, social, emotional and intellectual growth of children. I owned and operated a license home child care for 4 1/2 years prior to working at Head Start. As the owner of my child care, I was responsible for organizing the day to day lesson plans and activities. I supervised over other employees and was able to model and mentor them in developmentally appropriate practices. In my own business I took care of all paperwork involving the day to day operation of the business. I have experience working with Child Care Development Fund (CCDF) and Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). In my years at Head Start I acquired more experience and received on the job training. I also continued my education by going to school and receiving my Masters in Early Childhood Education with a specialization in Special Education. I have worked with families and formed partnerships with them to implement effective learning skills for their child. I plan and carry out lesson plans that reflect developmentally appropriate practices on a day to day basis. I pride myself on being able to multi-task, remain calm under pressure, and stay on task and maintaining my paperwork. In my current job position I have worked with providers and community partners. I give weekly presentations on , "How to find Quality Child Care." I have also provided trainings to Child Care Providers that focus on early childhood. I assure you that I am a hard worker and I enjoy communicating early childhood education to new staff, as well as parents. I knowledgeable in the Head Start program and performance standards. I have used the assessments before and am able to administer them if the need should arise. I have used the Devereux and know how to explain it to parents, and use it to see if children need any further services. I am also familiar with and have used Brigance and Creative Curriculum. I have worked up a lesson plan and included in them the goals that I have individually set for each child. I also know how to enter information into the computer, and can work through many of the computer programs that are used. I enjoy speaking in front of a audience, as well as meeting new people. I have the knowledge and experience of knowing what it takes to work in a early childhood classroom from day to day. I also know the importance of working with parents. I look forward to using my knowledge and skills to help in the classrooms that I will be working with.
