Prepared specimens for analysis and established proper chronological priorities in testing for a busy medical lab. I worked the 2nd shift and processed 17 specimens per hour with a 2% error rate. Recorded and filed patient data and medical records. Accurately entered procedure codes, diagnosis codes and patient information into billing software. Consistently ensured proper coding, sequencing of diagnoses and procedures. Demonstrated knowledge of HIPAA Privacy and Security Regulations by appropriately handling patient information.Interpreted medical reports to apply appropriate ICD-9, CPT-4 and HCPCS codes. After all the specimens were entered I then scanned all patient informations into the computer. Averaged 1700 patients per night. When all the samples were tested they were then scanned and stored for seven days.
