Responsible for assisting the Supervisor in managing all areas of operation of the department. This includes training and mentoring drivers from beginner through journeyman level to operate a variety of vehicles and equipment. An emphasis is on training drivers to tow aircraft. Training includes connecting the towbar to the aircraft, then ensuring drivers know how to coordinate with FRC Production Control for wing walkers chalk walkers, break riders, a director , an escort, and other personnel needed to move the aircraft throughout FRC's area of operation.

Also teach drivers how to operate semi tractor trailers. Have taught drivers how to connect tractor/ trailers, how to shift gears, and how to safely back and maneuver. Also teach drivers how to safely load trailers. This includes assesing the load for size, wieght distrabution, and how to properly secure the load using chain, binders, straps and other devices. Other training includes driving buses, teaching the bus routes, and how to have profesional interactions with the riders. More training includes sweeper truck operations. This meams training the drivers how to operate the sweeper, how to clean the equipment, and how to interact with the air traffic control tower as well as follow airfield movement protocal. Other responsibilities include issuing work assignments to drivers and ensuring they understand those work asignments with the ability to fullfil those asignments safely, timely and to the satisfaction of the customer.
