I am seeking employment as a Mental Health Therapist. My background in the field is advanced, although I did take a now 11 year hiatus which began with my decision to become a stay at home mother.
My education in the field is advanced. I not only received a Master's degree in counseling, I furthered my education and skill with a Specialist degree.
My final training and education took place at The University of Florida in their Counselor Education Program. I graduated with my Master's and Specialist degree with a 3.85 grade point average.
According to "The World and News Report"; the accredited Counselor Education program at The University of Florida is currently ranked number two in the nation, and stood for a while at number one the year before I was accepted.
The biproduct of my education, practice and love for the craft allows me to feel safe to boast that I am an excellent mental health therapist.
I have a desire for excellence, and strong understanding of the foundation of my work. My strength is individual adult therapy and adult group therapy.
I became highly familiar with Existential therapy. I believe in the power of therapeutic love. This cannot be achieved without being highly skilled in Person Centered counseling.
I felt as a TANF counselor, my abilities were underutiliized. Recently being in therapy myself, I found the local mental health resources as inadequate and I plan to do my part to help our situation.
I took up painting, writing and parenting during my hiatus. I published a children's book, (under my maiden name Laura Malanik if you want to look it up) The story is called, "White Kitty"; copywrite 1017.
In conclusion, I beleive that not hiring me, or at least exploring wheather I am a fit or not for your environment, would be much more of a risk than not considering me. I cannot help but reiterate my most astonishing findings. The local desperate need for skilled therapists. I know there is a strong need for my presence in the field.
Thank you for your consideration,

One last time, please ignore the template date above. There must be a glitch in the program. I cannot afford to pay a resume builder and my computer has limited programs. I am sure you will understand. Thank you,
I attended graduate school at The University of Florida in the Spring of 2002, and completed in the Spring of 2005.
I received a Masters degree and a Specialist degree from The Department of Education at UF, and my focus was on mental health therapy.
The program was Nationally Accredited, and ranked between one and two in the nation in Counselor Education Programs.
I graduated with all A's and one B.
Published children's book; "White Kitty"; copywrite 2017, under maiden name Laura Malanik
Like I said, I have a published children's book. I have two more children's book and an adult novel. I also have oodles of poetry. I am putting the writer in my aside for now. That's what paper and saved files are for. I look forward to returning to the office as a therapist. It was a career I took very seriously, was talented at, and very much enjoyed. Thank you for your time,
