Support the implementation of the CCS Strategic Plan
Assist the Chief Academic Officer in administering and evaluating professional learning opportunities supported by the division
Work collaboratively with senior staff, content and program coordinators, building administrators, and instructional leaders to identify professional learning needs, design and deliver evidence-based professional learning opportunities to meet those needs
Organize and facilitate district-wide professional learning opportunities including, New Teacher Orientation, Division PL Days, Convocation, and Administrative Conferences
Prepare and maintain a variety of printed and electronic materials (e.g. PL plans, frameworks, evaluations, training materials, minutes, memos, pre/post evaluations, activity logs, correspondence, etc.) to provide written documentation, convey information, and/or comply with VDOE guidelines and regulations.
Conduct needs assessments to inform PL course development and assess the impact
Participate in local, state, and national professional learning and curriculum organizations to remain current on evidence-based instructional and professional learning best practices
Assure beginning teachers receive coaching and mentoring to develop effective teacher leaders within the schools
Develop and implement staff training programs and materials to provide a variety of teaching strategies to enhance teachersā knowledge, skills, and dispositions for student success
Research a variety of topics to keep abreast of current trends, technology, and tools related to educational improvement
Represent the school division with external constituents
Manage logistics of division-wide and school site professional development
Prepare reports and documents related to areas of responsibility as deemed necessary
