Support security functions and operations at nineteen (19) airports in the state of Alaska.
Responsible for inputting data and creating basic reports.
Review emergency call information and transferring and distributing information in accordance with local procedures.
Review incident reports for accuracy and completeness to ensure proper reporting procedures were followed and inputting that data into various systems.
Assist supervisors and other leadership in the preparation of reports and briefings related to significant security incidents. Ensuring superiors are aware of ongoing activities and determining the need to call attention to important new information that may require further action.
Conduct BDA Program duties that was comprised of engaging in voluntary encounters and casual conversation with individual to analyze and assess behaviors and refer individual for additional screening when a certain criteria is met.
Develop a baseline which would include flight information, composition of travelers, expected behaviors, and deviations from those behaviors.
Assess multiple individuals simultaneously and exercising sound judgement to detect unusual behavior and determining when those behaviors were resolved using standard BDA referral screening.
Operating various screening equipment and technology to identify dangerous objects in baggage and on passengers, and preventing those objects from being transported in aircraft.
Performing searches and screening that includes physical interaction with passengers and conducting bag searches according to SOP.
Maintain focus and awareness working in a stressful environment that includes noise from alarms, machinery, and people, large crowds, time pressure, and disruptive and angry passengers.
Using critical thinking skills to mitigate actual and potential security threats b identifying, evaluating and applying appropriate situational options and approaches.
