TCH LVN School was established in 1960. The class size has increased from 5-6 students to the current maximum of 72 students. Since 1960, there have been 1,333 graduates. Many have continued their education to become registered nurses, traveling nurses, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and administrative nurses – even doctors. Some graduates have spread out over the United States; others have remained in local locations. The average passage rate for students who pass the NCLEX exam on their first attempt is 90%. TCH graduates are known by surrounding hospitals, doctors' offices, nursing homes, etc. to be thoroughly trained and ready to go to work after graduation.
Our program is a one-year vocational nursing program, starting every January. Classes are held in Woodville, Texas, at Tyler County Hospital. Clinical rotations begin in the seventh week, and include hands-on experiences in various departments of five area hospitals, doctors' offices, nursing homes, home health agencies, and hospice agencies.
