My experience in distribution line work began in 2006 when hired on as a distribution construction trainee for BGE. Since then i have progressed through the ranks to service operator. I have worked on several different distribution systems in mutual assistance. As well as a stint with Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative in 2012, where i was a journeyman lineman. I take pride in everything i do and look forward to a long career in the ever changing utility industry.
Started in September of 2006 in training with BGE. Progressed through the lineman ranks, until March of 2011 when I then entered into the service operator training program. I then left the company in October 2011, just prior to completion of the training program.
In October of 2011 i decided to try working for a small cooperative closer to my home(SMECO). During this time i was a fully qualified Journeyman lineman working on their distribution system. I was the lead lineman on a double bucket during this period. Although a short period of time, I believe this really benefited my understanding of all types of distribution systems. Also while with Smeco i was involved with mutual assistance to MET-ED in PA, competed in a regional lineman rodeo, and maintained a incident free career. However i decided that BGE just had too much to offer in the way of progression. July of 2012 i decided to return to BGE.
I returned to BGE in July. I picked up where i left off, in service operator training with a class that was already in progress. Since then i have graduated from the training program. I am currently working out of Piney Orchard Service Center as a qualified Service Operator.
