After spending 7 years in retail, and receiving certificates in Ornamental Horticulture, and Floral Design, I decided to take a chance and apply for a Dairy Laboratory position, in Tulare, CA., the dairy capitol of the world. I have enjoyed learning and applying that knowledge in my career over the past 12 1/2 years as a dairy lab technician. I have acquired a full technician's license, including DMSCC, ESCC, Phosphatase, Charm, and microbiology. I also acquired a Infrared Milk Analyzer's license, and have working knowledge of how to run and calibrate Bentley Instruments IRMA, and Somacount, and have the required license as well. I would use this experience in the future in the next chapter of my career.
Received Technicians, and IRMA licenses, and complete practical exams, and California State split sample tests yearly.
Started working as a Laboratory Assistant, and after a few years, and a lot of learning, I acquired IRMA and Technician's licenses, and became a Licensed Technician. My duties include daily work load, in all departments, floating between departments to assist, relieve, help or run lead, help assist in training new employees, or employees learning new departments, quality control checks, reporting, and many other duties. I have been with the company for over 12 years, and still enjoy learning new things.
Duties included managing all operations of a window coverings store, including scheduling all sales, and installation appointments, in store sales, phone sales, ordering product, and working with various suppliers on customer orders, stocking store supplies, faxing orders, coordinating orders with customer needs.
Manager at satellite store location, beginning as a holiday helper, and growing into a lead designer, my duties included opening and closing the store, working with FTD orders, direct customer requests, and making and receiving calls related to orders. During holidays, helping to train and instruct new hires.
