I was raised in Central and South America, so I am bilingual. I have been working with children for over fifteen years. I have attended many different workshops and trainings to further my career. I was the preschool teacher for the four and five year old. I planned and implemented my own curriculum and worked with many children with social and emotional needs. I established a safe play environment for the children.I created and implemented developmentally-appropriate curriculum that addressed all learning styles. I encouraged children to be understanding of each other. Most of all at this job I gave the children love and support.
I was the teacher for the four year old preschool classroom. I helped to establish a developmentally appropriate curriculum to use in this facility. I helped my colleagues on developing new classroom projects and monthly themes. I worked closely with the owner/director to establish a preschool program instead of just a daycare center.
I was in charge of the English department. I would hire and oversee the ESL teachers. I made sure that the curriculum and teaching methods followed the Peruvian teaching requirements and guidelines. I also taught four year old Kindergarten. In Peru the children start kindergarten at three years old. There are three levels of kindergarten. I also worked in the office doing administration duties, enrolling kids, budgeting, paying bills, and selling books.
I will be graduating in April with a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education. I am in the top 10% of my class and have been asked to join the Golden Key Society. My goal is to continue my education and receive my Masters Degree as a Special Educator.
