I currently work as an Instructional Assistant at Corbin Primary. I work in a Kindergarten classroom. I love working with children and being a part of their learning journey. I care and love each child that walks into my classroom, no matter who they are, what they have, or how much they know. As an Instructional Assistant, I provide classroom support throughout planned instruction and individual lessons. I deliver education individually to students who may need extra help and in small groups during RTI time. I help clean and organize the classroom, materials, and supplies required for the lessons. I help distribute materials, pencils, ls, and paper to the students as necessary. I make copies of materials and essential documents. I message parents as needed. I put each student's folders together and marked their behavior that day. I help protect our students as needed. I support the teacher in the classroom with anything she needs to be done.
At Good Samaritan Hospital, I had experience in customer service. I had two job titles. I worked as a Unit Coordinator and a Patient Care Assistant. As a UC, I answered call lights from the patients, asking them what they needed and then calling the nurse or PCA and letting them know. Also, I answered all the phone calls at the front desk. We would receive calls from doctors, other nurses, NP, family members, etc. I had to direct the calls to who they needed to go. I did so if it was a family member and I could answer the question. Due to HIPPA, I did not give any patient information. I had to help the people who came to the front desk and direct them to where they needed to go and who they needed to talk to and help get them what they needed. As a UC, I had to file certain records of patients into their charts on the computer and file them into their folders. I had to call in consults that the Doctors put in for the patient. As the PCA, I did hands-on care for the patients. I helped them with whatever they needed help with, took their vital signs and charted them, and stocked the unit with things that needed to be stored. I was very professional and caring when it came to my patients.
When I worked at RDI, I conducted telephone interviews. I would call respondents in certain areas and ask them to take a survey to better the stores around them. At RDI, I was held accountable for promptly meeting a Call Per Hour quota. I had to have strong phone and verbal communication skills. I had to follow a script when conducting a survey and handling different topics. When a person didn't seem very interested in taking the study, I would follow my hand to try to persuade them to take/finish the study. At RDI, I was scored on how overall call quality. I had to deal with rude people and maintain professionalism. I was also on the committee to help organize activities for coworkers and help organize the events we planned.
I am currently attending The University of the Cumberlands, pursuing a teaching degree for grades K-5. My expected graduation is in May 2025.
When I attended gateway, my major was nursing. I received my Cosmetology license in 2020.
