  • Created and provided individualized instruction in a variety of subjects for a diverse group of students and increased retention through repetition of lessons throughout the week and several times in succession upon incorrect responses.
  • Further enhancing student learning through exploration and creative teaching strategies, varying teaching methods, changing the environment.
  • Leadership, prioritization of daily tasks, quick decision making and maintaining a positive classroom environment, embracing a positive attitude.
  • Maintain lesson plans, instructional resources, and closely track student progress while working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Lessons/PowerPoint presentations were conducted for different subjects(mathematics) at times through Google Meet at a set time every day while the school transitioned to remote-learning.
09/2017 to 10/2017
Research Associate Intern, Capstone Project Healthcare Partners Magnolia, CA,
  • Developed weather/climate data lessons for use in high schools studying annual precipitation and maximum temperature changes over a 10-year period for specified locations through NCEI Land-Based Station databases. Then, students had an opportunity to interpret their findings in an analytical manner.
  • Data was downloaded through CSV files on NCEI website under the appropriate dataset for each year in that chosen period. The selection of downloading a CSV file under selection options allowed the information to be automatically entered into Microsoft Excel.
  • The main objective was to create 2-D lines to show trends over time using this software. A test run was personally conducted to ensure student success under effective leadership and management. Basic mathematics was used to verify data values.
  • As an effective graphing strategy, other variables not of interest were deleted. Variables of interest were highlighted and placed alongside each other in the table, an important step. A line graph will now yield a more accurate result through proper series selection (column and row cell ranges) under Chart Design.
  • Frequently managed tight timelines and multiple competing priorities, adhering to project management skills/principles, and writing technical reports.
  • Did climate change play a role? Different strategies were used in evaluation, both for the student and presenter/instructor.
