  • Support Field Sales and Custer requirements Provide and manage rate quotation to customer and maintain log on all quotes made to customer.
  • Quote Rates: import, export OOG Reefer and Exempt Utilize Trade Guidelines, LARA SQ and SharePoint template Assist with management and update of customer service contracts Negotiate alternative rate offers between customer and Trade/Line pricing Resolve customer sales related issues and problems as needed.
  • Receive, resolve and respond to customer inquiries Booking, Capacity, and Allocation issues Equipment, Intermodal and Port issues Work with Cargo Flow and Slot allocation to ensure customer response and cargo availability information is available and accurate Run and consolidate all management reports including weekly/monthly KPI, business plan, vessel profile, budget to actual, and others as assigned.
  • Pull and analyze JOC Stats to pre-qualify opportunities as required by sales management.
  • Prepare and manage service contracts and amend service contracts on to required format for filing by Commercial Support Team.
  • Review assigned rep's expiring service contracts, validate MQC via Diva, identify issues and work with trade/sales to ensure all new contracts are filed.
  • Research target customers via the internet to assist sales in developing quality presentations and to gather competitive intelligence on customer preferences in advance of sales calls.
  • Assist in the bid process by communicating required information for customer review.
  • Participate in sales meetings and customer meetings in Norfolk.
  • Adherence to all mandated deadlines.
  • Back-fill and assist the team during absences and periods of low staffing.
  • Maintain & update the regional mailing list for e-mail advise by service.

Export Trade Lane SupervisorAug 2011 to Feb 2014
ZIM Integrated Shipping Services - VA
  • Directly Supervise, Develop, and Delegate Customer Service Export Coordinators (3 teams) Field Support Team (Five agents) Vessel Closing Coordinators (Two agents) Customer Service Phone Representatives (Two agents) Work with Cargo Flow and Slot allocation to ensure customer response and cargo availability information is available and accurate Run and consolidate all management reports including weekly/monthly KPI and others as assigned.
  • Assists in ensuring that the export coordinators are motivated and have the necessary knowledge, skills, and tools needed to perform their daily duties.
  • Ensures timely completion of daily workload requirements, cargo movement, problem solving, troubleshooting, etc.
  • Coordinates and processes documentation including ocean bills of lading, letters of credit, and other legalized documents.
  • Ensures that that documentation is in compliance with quality standards.
  • Responsible for monitoring reports to identify inconsistencies, shipment status, container tracking, cargo diversions, etc.
  • Researches errors and recommends and/or implements corrective action plans.
  • Manage business-related communications and provide timely responses.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external clients, vendors, and agents.
  • Maintains and updates department operating procedures as required.
  • Must have strong leadership and teambuilding skills.
  • Designs and uses quantitative and qualitative measures to assess and improve actual performance (against established goals).

Vessel Closing CoordinatorNov 2007 to Aug 2011
  • Research and analyze and reconcile any anomalies that could interfere with the successful transmission of any sailing voyage.
  • Coordinate and instruct head office along with other multiple district level offices to ensure all cargo properly manifested and prepared for transmission.
  • Maintain familiarity with scheduled trains, destinations, times of arrivals and departures.
  • Responsible for the final transmission of manifest via EDI to all final destination locations.
  • Responsible for ensuring customs manifest is transmitted on time and without error to prevent penalties.
Export CoordinatorFeb 2007 to Nov 2007
  • Preparing, processing and issuing export bills of lading.
  • Receive incoming shipper instructions and transfer information/data into mainframe system.
  • Ensure documentation is in compliance with booking, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate and process documentation to include ocean bills of lading and letters of credit.
  • Responsible for processing shipper diversions, as well as coordinating with overseas agents pertaining to export shipments.
  • Coordinate with sales force, pricing, and accounting to ensure a seamless process.
