  • Working in underserved region serving an area of about 400 miles, at 400 bed hospital. Will be completing J1 waiver in August 2023.
  • Primarily worked as day hospitalist, responsible for 14 - 15 patients, taking charge of the treatment plan as primary physician, diagnosing and managing complex diseases in conjunction with mid level, specialists and intensivists.
  • Balances clinical duties with administrative tasks such as ensuring appropriate billing, discussions with utilization management, insurance companies and pharmacies.
  • Also worked shifts that primarily required coordinating with outside hospitals in the region to transfer patients requiring higher level of care, managing between 20 - 40 transfer center patient calls a night along with performing admissions with residents, as well as providing support for the remainder of the the overnight physicians if they were overwhelmed. The primary responsibility on this shift involved triaging patients, in the setting of limited beds, based on conversations with providers at other hospitals and chart review, offering medical advice, directing to specialists if required.
  • Highly efficient on admission shifts, performing up to 9 admissions in a 10 hour shift, exceeding the average number of admissions, solo as well as with mid levels.
  • Enjoyed teaching medical students few weeks a year, as well as family medicine residents on overnight shifts.
  • Worked on overnight shifts, cross cover, wherein I covered the entire service of anywhere between 200 - 250 patients. it required quickly triaging the situation after brief chart review and responding.
