Professional Summary

I am an enthusiastic HIM Tech/MPI Specialist eager to contribute to team success through hard work, attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. I feel that I am highly accurate and efficient with my work. Motivated to learn, grow and excel in my career. My years of customer service skills and computer skills have given me the ability to play many roles within HIM. I enjoy working with patients and other individuals within the community. I enjoy working with computer systems as well.

Skills
  • Strong Customer Service - I have worked with the public for 10+ years. I've learned it's best to always have a smile and try to accommodate each individual. My customer service skills lead me to training providers and staff.
  • All Around Team Player - I enjoy working in collaboration with my fellow co-workers and find it is a wonderful way to support each other. While writing SOPs (standard operating procedures), I find that it's always better to share ideas and thoughts with other as they can contribute their knowledge.
  • Works Well Independently - I have always worked well independently and I take pride in work. When training providers remotely, I would need to rely on myself to be able to activate the provider's remote access on their office desktops and work my way through any technical difficulties when they arose. I currently working remotely at home since March of 2020.
  • Communication Skills - I try to be clear and concise with information I am requesting. This saves time as there is less cause for confusion. I also am comfortable talking to new individual under pressure. For example working with patients who are frustrated regarding their records - I have learned to be patient and to stay positive while acknowledging their issues and working to resolve them.
  • Computer know-how - I have been working with many different computer systems for 10+ years. I am confident and comfortable working with Microsoft programs (such as Work, Excel, OneNote, Teams, Outlook, etc.), several EMR systems (EDM, Clinical Suites, AS400, Centricity, Epic, etc.), Zoom, PDF programs (Acrobat/Nitro Pro), and other online programs.
  • Attention to Details - Most of my work relates to paying attention to details. When working an overlay (demographic changes within the system) errors, it is important that I research the change with any documentation within the patient's chart. This can prevent further issues down the road such billing for service on the wrong patient.
  • Organization Skills - I work to complete projects in an efficient and timely manor while working under pressure. My goals currently are to publish SOPs in a timely manor so that other individuals can stay up-to-date with accurate information within our policies database.
